BSF Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry or equivalent.
- Registration in the Veterinary Council of India.
Physical Standards:
- Height– 157.5 Cms (Male), 142 Cms (Female)
- Chest– 77-82 Cms (Only Male)
- Weight– Proportionate to height and age.
Relaxable by 2 cms for Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Garwalis, Kumaonis and by 03 cms in respect of Adivasis.
BSF Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Selection Process
FIRST PHASE
Documentation: Age, Caste Certificate, Educational Qualification & Other Documents.
Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The PST will be carried out by the BOOs to assess their Height, Weight and Chest according to the prescribed Physical Standard. The candidates who found eligible in documentation and qualify in PST, shall appear in following Physical Efficiency Test (PET) events:

BSF Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Selection Process all events of PET shall be qualifying in nature. Candidates are required to qualify all events of PET independently. Failing in any of the events shall be a ‘disqualification’.
SECOND PHASE
Interview: The candidates declared qualified in Documentation, Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) shall be eligible to appear for personal interview which shall be conducted at FHQ, BSF CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. This test carries 100 marks.
Note: Preference will be given to the persons having qualification of M. V.Sc. in clinical subjects like Surgery, Medicine and Pathology.
Medical Examination: Candidates, who will qualify in all the above stages of examination i.e. Written Examination, Documentation, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Interview will undergo detailed Medical Examination, which will be conducted by a Medical board to assess their fitness.
