Indian Navy Tradesman Skilled Eligibility Criteria |
Tradesman Skilled (Ammunition Mechanic)
- Candidates should have Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board in India.
- Two years’ Certificate Course from a recognized ITI under the Craftsmanship Training Scheme in any of the following trades :- (i) Electrician or (ii) Electronic Mechanic or (ii) Electroplater or (iv) Fitter or (v) Instrument Mechanic or (vi) Machinist or (vii) Mechanic, Communication Equipment Maintenance.
For Other Post
- Should have Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Institute or Board with knowledge of English.
- Should have completed Apprenticeship training in the relevant trade for the post. OR
- Mechanic or equivalent with 2 years regular service in the appropriate Technical Branch of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Screening & Shortlisting of Applications 2023
Indian Navy will not carry out detailed scrutiny of Tradesman applications received online to allow candidates to appear for the examination. Detailed scrutiny of documents will be carried out at a subsequent stage.
All candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will be eligible to participate in the selection process for the Indian Navy Tradesman position. Fulfilling the minimum requirements does not guarantee an invitation to take the written examination.
In cases where the number of applicants is higher than the number of available vacancies, the appointing authority reserves the right to shortlist the applications, as deemed appropriate and only these selected individuals will be invited to take the Indian Navy Tradesman written test.
Indian Navy Tradesman Written Exam 2023
All candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must take a written examination with objective type questions. The examination will be available in both English and Hindi (excluding General English). The format of the test will be specified in the instructions that will be sent along with the e-admit card. The exam will include the following topics:

Indian Navy Tradesman Syllabus 2023
General Intelligence and Reasoning
This section of the exam will encompass questions of both verbal and non-verbal nature. It will include assessments on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discerning observation, relationship concepts, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number sequences, and non-verbal series. The section will also pose questions to evaluate the candidate’s ability to comprehend abstract ideas, symbols, and their connections, perform arithmetic calculations, and solve analytical problems.
Numerical Aptitude
This section would include questions on problems relating to number system, computation of whole numbers, Ratio and proportions, averages, interest, profit & loss, discount, time & distance, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentage, ratio & time, time & work etc.
General English
In addition to the testing of candidates understanding of English language, this section would include questions relating to its vocabulary, synonymous, antonyms, grammar, sentence structure and its correct usage etc.
General Awareness
This section would include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, economics scene, general policy including Indian Constitution, history, culture, geography and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require special study of any discipline.
Awareness in relevant trade/field
The test will include questions relating to trade and post, as per the essential qualification specified.
Indian Navy Tradesman Document Verification 2023
All candidates who are selected provisionally will need to undergo Document Verification. During this process, original copies of all required documents including those related to age, education, identity, address, category, caste validity certificate, and Apprentice school certificate must be presented. The date and location for document verification will be communicated to the provisionally selected candidates through post, email, or the Indian Navy website, www.indiannavy.nic.in. As per current regulations, the appointment offer will only be made official after the relevant authorities have verified the candidate’s documents.

Indian Navy Tradesman Recruitment 2023 On-line Registration and Submission process will be terminated by 06 March 2023 at 23.59 hrs. Candidature of such applicants who fail to complete online submission of Indian Navy Tradesman Skilled application form by stipulated date and time will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
